Muscat: The Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources today celebrated World Food Day 2023, with the aim of highlighting water as the basis of life and food.
This campaign aims to educate the world about the importance of rationalizing water management because the abundance of this precious resource is threatened by shrinking due to rapid population growth and expansion. Urban development, economic development and climate change, in cooperation with Nama Water Services and the Oman Food Bank, and under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture.
Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Mushaykhi, Director General of Water Management, said: World Food Day reflects the importance of periodically reviewing and evaluating the conditions of agriculture and food production at all global, regional and local levels, and identifying what has been accomplished and determining what is needed in the future in light of the changing data that cast astray.
