

Muscat: The Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), represented by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) and the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) is maintaining technical efforts and backup operations to support local communities that got the brunt of the recent heavy rains.
The RAO provided technical, humanitarian and social support to impacted areas in a number of wilayats in the Governorate of South Al Batinah Governorate.
Meanwhile, the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) conducted medical evacuation of patients who had to be airlifted to A’Rustaq Hospital due to the inability of their respective health centres (in Hatt, Balad Sayt, and Al Taikha) to continue to support them during the wet spell.
In the same context, the RAFO transported a team of medical personnel and a consignment of medical supplies to Wadi Bani Auf area in the Wilayat of A’Rustaq.
In the meantime, the Defence Ministry’s Engineering Services division offered technical assistance by opening main roads in the Wilayat of Nakhl and Wadi Al Ma’awil in the rain aftermath, replicating its experience in the Governorate of Musandam.
The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) also put its vessels at the service of the local communities. It operated trips for the transportation of equipment and basic commodities to Lima in the Governorate of Musandam, which was recently impacted during the tropical condition
