Muscat: The youth center is implementing in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman a set of summer programs to hone and develop the skills and capabilities of youth, which will extend until next August.
Alia bint Saeed Al-Shanfaria, Director of the Support and Business Follow-up Office at the Youth Center, said that these programs come to ensure the optimal investment of youth’s free time, and to provide ideal ways to develop youth capabilities in various fields and contribute to building a conscious and educated youth society, discovering and developing skills, and providing spaces commensurate with their requirements.
In addition to developing their knowledge and experience, and enhancing their participation in various projects and initiatives.
She pointed out that the number of beneficiaries of the summer programs this year reached more than 10 thousand young men and women between the ages of 15 and 34 years, throughout the months of July and August for all summer programs offered in various governorates.
She added that the group of programs offered in the Al Sharqiyah South Governorate was in cooperation with the Oman LNG Company, and there is a partnership with the Petroleum Development Oman Company for the Independent Professions Program, and cooperation with Vodafone for the Dhofar Package, and an existing agreement regarding cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority to support entrepreneurship programs.
She stated that the summer programs vary between three tracks, the first is the talents and skills track, which is concerned with developing and developing the talents and skills of young people and working on cultivating the idea of transforming skills and talents into an economy and additional income for young people. And the vocational and other paths, and the entertainment track, which works to find entertainment events and activities for young people that contribute to their recreation and the development of their capabilities in various fields.
It is worth noting that the Youth Center seeks to implement many programs in partnership with international institutions, and is also working on developing and advertising its branches in various governorates, and announcing additional services provided to Omani youth.
