Supreme Committee issues new decisions and allows to reopen mosques

Muscat: The Supreme Committee charged with examining a mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) examined the developments of this pandemic, measures to prevent it and ways to avoid its spread, and to deal with its various effects, and took the following decisions that take effect immediately:

1- Allowing the reopening of mosques with a capacity of at least 100 worshipers for the five daily prayers only (while not holding Friday prayers), in accordance with the controls previously announced by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

2- Ending of the decision to ban all commercial activities in all governorates of the Sultanate from 8 pm until 4 am, and the continuation of reduce entry to complexes, shops, restaurants and cafes to no more than 50% of their capacity, while allowing children under the age of 12 to enter .

3 -Allowing the opening of the activities of exhibitions, wedding halls and other collective commercial activities, provided that the attendance rate does not exceed 30% of its capacity and does not exceed 300 people in all cases for halls with a large capacity, while adhering to all preventive measures and requirements.

4 – Allow Omanis and residents of the Sultanate of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf working in neighboring countries to move daily across the land borders to perform their work, with the need to present proof of their work from the employer.

5 – Allowing people to visit beaches, parks and public parks, with an emphasis on preventing gatherings of any kind in them, and adhering to all preventive measures and requirements.

6- Allowing the practice of group sports activities in open spaces, while adhering to all preventive measures and requirements.

7 -Allowing gyms to open at a rate of (50%) of their capacity, while adhering to all preventive measures and requirements.
