Supreme Judicial Council holds first meeting in 2024

Muscat: The Supreme Judicial Council held its first meeting for the year 2024, headed by His Excellency Sayyid Muhammad bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council, and in the presence of members of the Council.

During the meeting, His Excellency praised the judicial efforts made during the past judicial year, which played a prominent role in contributing to raising the level of justice and integrity, and the stability of judicial principles and rulings. A number of topics on his agenda were also discussed in accordance with his competence to supervise the courts, judges, and public prosecution.

The Council reviewed a number of items on issues related to judicial work, its organization, developing laws, and improving the quality of judicial services. The Council also discussed a number of topics and decisions related to the administrative and functional affairs of the Supreme Judicial Council.

At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency urged to redouble efforts to achieve a successful, independent and impartial judiciary that achieves the highest standards of justice and the rule of law.
