Judiciary Council Commends 2025 Achievements, Reviews 2026 Priorities

Muscat: The Supreme Judiciary Council today held its first meeting of 2026 under the chairmanship of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council.

At the outset of the meeting, the Council commended the efforts exerted during the past year, including the smooth functioning of the judicial system, the prompt settlement of legal cases, the stability of judicial rulings, and the accelerated digital transformation marked by the expansion of electronic services provided to the public through the courts, the Public Prosecution Department, and the offices of the Notary Public.

The Council also reviewed a report on the progress of work at the Investment and Commerce Court, which recently commenced its duties. The court aims to establish a specialized judicial framework for investment and commercial cases, enhance the business environment, and provide strong legal guarantees for investors.

During the meeting, the Council discussed decisions and issues related to the administrative, financial, and professional affairs of judges and members of the Public Prosecution Department. It also addressed matters concerning the regulation of judicial work, the development of legislation, and the improvement of the quality of judicial services.
