Tahayem Winter Season begins today

Jalan Bani Bu Hassan: The “Tahayem Winter Season’ was launched today in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, in the presence of His Excellency the Dr. Governor of South Al Sharqiyah.

His Excellency Dr. Rahi, the patron of the opening ceremony of the “Tahayim Winter Season,” stressed the importance of the event in stimulating the economic movement in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, praising the season’s diverse events and activities that suit all segments and spectrums of society. Which makes it a qualitative addition to the tourism movement witnessed by the governorate in all its states, which culminated in the selection of Sur as the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2024.

His Excellency added that the season is being held in the context of the general direction of the Sultanate of Oman, which aims to enhance the role of economic sectors to support diversity and achieve sustainability in the governorates, and to hold activities and events that attract visitors in a way that supports local economies. His Excellency expressed his happiness with the Ministry’s active participation in the “Winter Al-Tahayim” season through the International Dates and Honey Exhibition, hoping that it will contribute to enriching the season and increasing demand for it, and His Excellency wished success for the season and success for those in charge of it.

The opening ceremony began with a tour of a number of corners of the season, and began with the opening of the International Dates and Honey Exhibition, in which approximately 180 companies producing dates and honey and local and international packaging and bottling companies participated, followed by a tour of the creativity corner, the interactive children’s corner and the games area.

Muhammad bin Ali Akaak, Governor of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the “Winter Al-Tahayim” season, explained that the main goal of organizing this event is to introduce the tourism components and environmental diversity in Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, and to promote tourism and attract investments to the state by highlighting investment opportunities. In the tourism fields, creating a distinctive entertainment and tourism outlet for citizens and visitors, and creating added value and benefiting society.

The opening ceremony included the showing of a film about the “Tahayem Winter Season, in addition to a group of corners, including the desert adventure corner, the astronomy camp, restaurants and sand sessions, the Omani culinary arts corner, the Bedouin tent corner, and learning about archaeological collectibles, in addition to presenting the Al-Rababa section, and a tour.
