Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion started to implement incubators for resolving challenges facing the converting industries sector.
The five-day programme is undertaken through cooperation with Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and the Industrial Innovation Academy.
The incubators deal with three main themes: “infrastructure and public services”, “laws and legislation” and “investment and financing”.
More than 60 people representing various government and private establishments are taking part in the tasks of the programme.
Eng. Sami Al Sahib, Director General of Industry at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, stressed the role of the incubators in addressing challenges related to projects of the converting industries sector, since government and private establishments concerned are fully represented in the programme and are capable of forging solutions.
Al Sahib added that the incubators aim at realizing a number of objectives. These include reviewing all the results of the laboratories implemented in various sectors related to the industrial sector; analyzing, studying and coding the challenges related to projects and investment opportunities resulting from the previous laboratories; and devising practical solutions in cooperation with the authorities concerned to secure licenses required by the projects.
