Teachers with single dose of vaccine can return to Oman with mandatory quarantine

Muscat: The 26th Press Conference of the Supreme Committee on Covid-19 Thursday, 26 August 2021,

H.E Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniyyah : Minister of Education, Member of the Supreme Committee said :

Abroad teachers who work in Oman and have received one dose of the vaccine, to arrive in Oman in the coming days, will be subject to mandatory quarantine, and will receive the second dose of the vaccine.

There is a protocol for the operation of schools, was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, which includes a regulation concerning school buses, which will run 50% of their capacity only.

The Ministry of Education has completed its recovery plan for the academic year 2021/2022 in coordination with the Ministry of Health to start the school year in September.

The ministry organized a seminar last May, engaging International organizations concerned with education, and a broad partnership that is specialized in education to discuss the learning loss, and to come up with recommendations to explore and address it

Top highlights of the Education System include:

Compliance with the health precautions and application of the health protocol

Schools are divided into 3 categories:

School of grades 1 to 6 will operate by the Blended Learning system, except for schools with low density, will be 100% in class.

Grades 7 – 11 schools will operate though in class system. Except for schools which contain more than 30 students per each class, will follow Blended learning.

Grade 12 will operate by 100% in class system.

Schools with extended classes from 1-12 or 5-10; will have the 1-6 classes segregated in independent classes from the rest classrooms.
