Pegging Grand Prix Championship begins in Al Rahba in Barka

Barka: The Grand Prix Pegging Championship for the 2023/2024 season was launched at the Pegging Field at Al Rahba Farm, with the participation of 18 teams represented by 72 male and female competitors from various government and private cavalry units.

The competition included five rounds for teams with spears and swords. The first and second rounds were capturing one stake with a spear measuring 6 + 4 cm, and the third, fourth and fifth rounds were capturing a peg with a spear measuring 6 + 4 + 4 cm.

The Royal Cavalry Team, represented by contestant Hamad bin Nasser Al Rayyami, Hamad bin Saif Al Raisi, contestant Safwan bin Zaid Al Maamari, and Saif bin Hamoud Al Ashkhari, won first place in the teams category for units.

The Royal Cavalry Team, represented by contestant Salem bin Mohammed Al Ameri and Hamoud, won second place in the teams category for units. Bin Shams Al Rawahi, contestant Salem bin Saeed Al Manouri, racer Salem bin Muhammad Al Jabri, and third place was the Sultan of Oman Armored Team (B), represented by contestant Khalid bin Amer Al Habsi, racer Khalid bin Salem Al Mamari, racer Ali bin Khamis Al Balushi, and racer Nasser bin Rashid Al Siyabi.
