Salalah: Activities of the 3rd Arab Forum for Tourism and Heritage opened here today under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The two-day event, organized by the Arab Union for Tourism Media, includes a discussion session titled “Cultural Tourism as a Tool for Social and Economic Development”, workshops in the fields of tourism media and heritage and a tourism heritage exhibition.
The opening ceremony included a visual display on the Dhofar Governorate, speeches by several participants and a documentary featuring the tenure of Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Director of Sharjah Heritage Institute, who won the Arab Heritage Personality award for the year 2023.
Later, HH Sayyid Marwan honoured the winners of the Arab Tourism Media Oscar awards in tourism, investment, heritage and media fields. He also felicitated the supporting entities.
It is worth noting that Oman’s Al Bashayer Camel Festival won the best Arab tourism festival award, which figures among Arab Tourism Media Oscars.
