The Hafeet Rail project is a key component of the Sultanate of Oman’s rail transport infrastructure. The railway will connect the city of Sohar with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, passing through Al Buraimi and Al Ain, over a total distance of approximately 238 kilometres.
Once operational, passenger trains on the network will travel at speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour, reducing travel time between Sohar and Abu Dhabi to around 100 minutes.
The project is expected to enhance connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, facilitate the movement of passengers and goods, support trade and investment activities, and contribute to regional economic integration.
