Traditional 40 feet rowing boats race in North Al Batinah

Shinas: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, represented by the Omani Committee for Marine Sports in the Wilayat of Shinas, organized today a 40-foot traditional rowing boat race, with the participation of a number of rowing teams in the wilayats of North Al Batinah Governorate.

The race started from the Valleys Creek in Shinas, reaching the port of Shinas for a distance of three and a half kilometers, where the number of competitors in all boats reached /80/, at a rate of /16/ in each boat with the team captain, in competition to reach the finish point.

The first place was won by Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Ghaithi boat, while the second place was won by the Humaid bin Salem Al-Bahri boat, and the third place was won by the Salem bin Humaid Al-Bahri boat.

It should be noted that the winner of the first place in this race qualifies to participate in the Abu Dhabi Traditional Boat Race for the 40-foot category, which will be held during the coming period of this year.
