Traditional horse festival held in Sohar

Sohar: The activities of the traditional horse festival were held at the equestrian field in the Wilayat of Sohar in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, organized by the Equestrian Committee in the state and in cooperation with the Oman Equestrian Federation.

The festival began with a number of musical arts related to horses, represented in the art of horse humbel and the art of transformation, presented by a number of horse riders participating in the festival.

Three rounds of excitement were also held within the activities of the festival, the first round of Sohar Castle for purebred Arabian horses, the second round of Hebei Fort for crossbred Arabian horses, and the third round of Al-Suhaila Fort for English horses in addition to the horse show.

The festival also witnessed the establishment of horse skills, which included horse riding, the sport of picking pegs, bow and arrow skill, showcasing the beauty of Arabian horses, as well as horse literature.

At the end of the festival, His Excellency Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, sponsor of the occasion, handed over prizes to the winners of the first places in the excitement rounds, and honored the institutions and individuals participating in the success of the festival’s activities.
