Traditional weapons shooting championship begins in Bidiya

Muscat: The traditional weapons shooting championship for the year 2023 began in the wilayat of Bidiya in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, organized by the Bidiya Shooting Team, with wide participation of participants from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, and it will last for two days.

Amer bin Mohammed Al Hajri, head of the Bidiya Shooting Team, explained that organizing the competition held at the shooting range comes within the framework of the winter activities that the wilayat is witnessing during this period, and to preserve and support the authentic traditional Omani heritage of talents in the field of traditional shooting.

On the first day, the competition included holding qualifiers in the competition categories designated for competition in individual shooting for the “Sakton” category for juniors, generals, and professionals, in addition to holding qualifiers for the rifle shooting competitions for the category of people with disabilities, which will be held for the first time within the championship competitions.

The results of shooting for people with disabilities were that the shooter Ali bin Hamad Al Habsi came in first place, the shooter Amer bin Saif Al Rashidi came in second place, while the shooter Muhammad bin Ali Al Turshi achieved third place.
