Storm ‘Asna’ 800 km away from Oman coast
Muscat: The center of the tropical storm “Asna” is about 800 kilometers away from the coast of the Sultanate of Oman and the distance of the closest rain clouds is about 550 kilometers away, said Younis bin Hussein Al-Shizawi, a Meteorologist to Oman TV
The indirect effects of the tropical condition may begin tomorrow evening, Saturday, with an influx of clouds and the possibility of scattered rain in parts of Muscat and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates.
The direct effects of the tropical storm are expected to begin Sunday evening with rain of varying intensity in the governorates of Muscat, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Ad Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah and parts of Al Dhahirah Governorate.
Current updates indicate that the tropical condition will cross land as a deep tropical depression after midnight Sunday.
The path of the tropical storm will be more accurate tomorrow morning, Saturday, and the Meteorological Department may issue the first warning regarding the weather conditions.
