Turkiye is set to welcome His Majesty today

Ankara: The Turkish capital Ankara has completed its preparations to receive His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, who will arrive in the Republic of Turkey tomorrow, Thursday, on a state visit, the first since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries, in response to the kind invitation extended to His Majesty by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye.

During the visit, His Majesty – may God protect and preserve him – is scheduled to hold an official discussion session with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Turkey and sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding.

He will also visit some historical and cultural landmarks in the capital, Ankara.

The two countries are keen to invest this visit in strengthening partnerships and cooperation and opening broader horizons in the investment aspect in various fields such as: technology, innovation, health, maritime transport, ports, energy, transportation, food security and petrochemicals, in addition to reviewing the opportunities available in economic zones and industrial cities.

The Turkish media and popular circles celebrated His Majesty’s visit to Turkey, which confirms the strength of the bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Turkey.

A number of media professionals and journalists in the Republic of Turkey stressed the importance of this visit, which reflects the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, and is a clear indication of their authenticity and strength.

Turkish journalist Mustafa Ozcan said: This visit gives a great indication of the two countries’ progress towards achieving full integration in the areas of cooperation in all fields to achieve more prosperity and well-being for the two peoples, and to enhance strong cooperation between the two countries in the economic, political and security fields. Ismail Kaban, editor-in-chief of the Turkish Daily newspaper, described the visit of the beloved King to Turkey as historic, considering that this visit and the visits that will follow it between the officials of the two countries will work to enhance integration between the two countries in a way that serves their interests; which will be reflected positively on the entire region.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Bali, Cultural Studies Expert at Ankara University (Yildirim Beyazit – Turkey), said: The visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq – may God protect him – to the Republic of Turkey is a special moment in the history of Omani-Turkish relations, expressing his welcome to the visit that embodies the depth of the historical ties that have extended between the two countries over many centuries.

He added: This visit highlights the will of the two wise leaderships to strengthen and develop these relations in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, noting that this visit comes at a crucial time to enhance joint cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Türkiye in various fields including economy, culture, and politics.

He explained that it is expected that the discussions between the two leaderships will result in new strategic partnerships and a shared vision to confront regional and international challenges, which will enhance the position of the two countries on the global stage and support the aspirations of their peoples.

He said that it is hoped – through this historic visit – that Omani-Turkish relations will witness a new start towards broader horizons of cooperation and integration, stressing that the historical depth of these relations, supported by mutual understanding and future vision, establishes a new era of fruitful partnership that will contribute to building a prosperous future for the two friendly countries.
