Two-Day Diabetes and Endocrine Summit Opens in Muscat

Specialists Convene in Oman for 2025 Diabetes and Endocrine Summit

Muscat: The Oman Summit for Diabetes & Endocrine Across the Lifespan 2025 kicked off today in the Governorate of Muscat.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for External Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University.

The two-day event brings together specialists in diabetology, obesity and endocrinology, featuring 22 speakers from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman who will deliver scientific papers and specialized lectures.

Sayyida Dr. Noor Badr Al Busaidi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Oman Diabetes Association, affirmed that convening the summit provides a pivotal scientific platform that contributes to enhancing the quality of care for patients with diabetes, obesity and endocrine disorders in the Sultanate of Oman.

She said that the organization of this event reflects the close cooperation between the Oman Diabetes Association, the Ministry of Health and the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology—serving as a practical model for the integration of roles between civil society institutions and the governmental health sector.

She added that the summit aims to enhance national capacities, promote inter-sectoral cooperation and raise the level of care through a scientific forum that gathers physicians, researchers, policymakers and health-sector officials.

The conference program includes scientific papers covering diabetes technologies, endocrine disorders in children and adults, obesity medicine, metabolic bone health, thyroid diseases, pituitary and adrenal disorders, as well as the latest developments in precision medicine.

Four practical workshops are also being held, focusing on key clinical skills such as diabetic foot care, continuous glucose monitoring systems, carbohydrate counting and insulin pump therapy, in line with best global practices.

The event is organized across two parallel scientific tracks—adult medicine and pediatrics—aiming to review the latest clinical practices and research in diagnosing and treating diabetes and endocrine disorders across all age groups.
