Two Omani gets first ever Blue Badge in Table Tennis Referees

Muscat: International referee Muhammad Al-Alawi and referee Aisha Al-Saeediya passed the blue badge test from the International Table Tennis Federation, as this badge is one of the highest scores in table tennis arbitration, and Al-Alawi and Al-Saeediya are the first Omani referees to pass the test.

The two Omani referees had completed the necessary requirements to obtain the blue badge after obtaining a passing grade in the Arabic and English language exams on the sidelines of the Iraq International Championship, in which the two referees participated through their management of competitions, including the final rounds of a number of categories.

Mohammed bin Humaid Al Jassassi, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Oman Table Tennis Association, said: “The development of referees is one of the main aspects that are being worked on in the union in the current period, as arbitration is a cornerstone of the table tennis system, and we are constantly working to develop various aspects and technical skills for the referees of the game and support them.” With all the changes and developments in the law of the game, and the increase in the number of referees who obtained the blue badge as well as the international badge is very important for the federation, especially at this stage, given that the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the federation, is on the verge of organizing the World Tournament of Pioneers of Table Tennis for the year 2023, which requires the presence of A good number of international referees and the blue badge, and at the same time we will continue to prepare and prepare a number of new referees to enter the arbitration corps through continuous courses and programs to develop the skills of referees.
