UK, Oman to work close to increase high value investment

Muscat: The British Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman said that His Excellency Abdul Salam Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Omani Investment Authority, and Lord Gerry Grimston, British Minister of Investment, signed a Sovereign Investment Partnership agreeing to work closer together on increasing high value investment into both countries.

The British embassy confirmed, through a tweet, By signing this agreement, the UK and Oman agree to work closer to increase high value investment into both countries.

The British Embassy had said that the new partnerships will strengthen the economic ties between the UK and Oman and identify and support commercial investments in areas such as clean energy and technology, which are already an important part of our £1 billion a year trading relationship.

It is worth noting that a ministerial delegation is on official visit to the United Kingdom, which includes HE Abdulsalam Al-Murshidi, Chairman of the Omani Investment Authority, HE Qais Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, HE Dr. Muhad Bawein, Minister of Labor, and HE Nasser bin Khamis Al-Jashmi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance.

This visit comes within the framework of the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik- to United Kingdom.

The Omani delegation met Lord Vincent Keaveny, Mayor of London, and Lord Gerry Grimstone, Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
