    • United Nations: Oman close to complete 90% E-Census 2020, despite challenges of COVID-19

    Muscat: Even though the world suffers spillover effects due to the exceptional circumstances The Sultanate confirms that #ECensus2020 is still ongoing and on schedule.

    According to UN report: Oman Census 2020 is a register-based census. We are already in an advanced stage in building three main data hubs related to population, housing and establishments. These data hubs have integrated with more than 15 different national agencies which provide data in real time. We are close to 90% of completion. We believe we can meet the target date by 12 December 2020.

    As the United Nations Statistics Division is in charge of implementing the responsibilities of the World Population and Housing Census Program for the year 2020 in terms of monitoring its implementation, it has launched a site to monitor the negative impact of the Corona pandemic on the conduct of the World Population Census 2020.
