Muscat: The Office of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the Sultanate of Oman lauded the efforts of Oman in taking effective measures to reflect the importance of groundwater in devising policies of sustainable development through various projects.
This was stated today on the occasion of the World Water Day, which falls on 22 March each year. This year’s celebration is themed “Groudwater – Making the Invisible Visible”.
The FAO Office in Oman added that the project of building a resident environment and sustainable agriculture and water resources in Oman is one of its kind in Oman. It added that groundwater constitutes and essential element in ensuring that the ecosystem functions properly.
