An upper air trough will continue to effect the Sultanate of Oman until Sunday morning, 29th of January 2023.

Chances of clouds advection and isolated rain with occasional thundershowers and hail over the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahran, Al Wusta, Al Dakhiliya and Muscat. The influence expected to gradually extend to the Governorates of North Al Sharqiya, South Al Sharqiya, and Dhofar. The highest amounts of rainfall is expected over the northern governorates. 

Expected Impacts:

Accumulation of isolated rainfall ranging from 10 to 70 mm may cause wadies flow.

Chances for snow and frost over mountain’s tops

Fresh downdraft winds with speed of 15 to 40 kt (28 -74 km/h).

Sea state will be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Oman Sea with maximum wave height ranging between 2 -3 meters

Noticeable decrease in temperature over most of the governorates, especially over the mountain’s tops 

Civil Aviation Authority advices all to take precautions during rainfall and ladies flow and to check the visibility and sea state before sailing and follow weather bulletins and reports
