UTAS Salalah Hosts Third Innovation and Research Forum

Salalah: The third annual Scientific Research and Innovation Forum was inaugurated today at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah.

The forum is organized by the university as part of its efforts to promote scientific research and highlight the contributions of students and faculty members across various fields of innovation.

In his address, Dr. Yasser bin Mohammed Al-Yafei, Vice President for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research and Innovation, underscored the importance of supporting research and strengthening a culture of innovation within the academic environment. He highlighted achievements made in the areas of partnerships, entrepreneurship, innovation and technology.

The forum programme included a visual presentation on the university’s key research and innovation activities, in addition to three scientific lectures titled “Transforming Innovations into Entrepreneurial Projects,” “Enhancing the Productivity of Scientific Research with Artificial Intelligence,” and “Research Cooperation from Idea to Impact.”

The event also featured the opening of a student projects exhibition ضمن “Together Towards Innovation” competition.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency Mohammed bin Ali Al-Amri, Member of the Shura Council representing the Wilayat of Mirbat and patron of the event, honoured outstanding researchers, competition winners in both university and school categories, and contributors to organizing the forum.
