UTAS Sohar participates in Global Young Scientists Summit

Sohar: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sohar participated today in the Global Summit of Young Scientists, which is being held in the Republic of Singapore from January 17 to 19, through video communication, with the wide participation of young scientists from different countries of the world under the age of 35 years.

The university’s participation is represented by Dr. Maitha bint Rabie Al Jabriya from the Department of Engineering through a number of lectures and discussion sessions in a number of specialized scientific fields.

The summit, which comes this year under the slogan “Advancing Science, Creating Technologies for a Better World,” addresses a number of main axes aimed at motivating distinguished young researchers to focus on research that addresses global challenges and future needs.

The summit focuses on engaging young researchers and connecting them with their like-minded peers from prominent scientific leaders at this summit by presenting a number of lectures and interactive discussion sessions with various scientists, as 14 senior scientists who have won international awards such as the Nobel Prize, the Wilders Medal and the Prize Millennium Tech and Turing Award in various scientific disciplines.
