Al-Awabi: Visitors to the ancient village of Halhal in Wadi Bani Kharus, in the Wilayat of Al-Awabi in the Al Batinah South Governorate, seek to embark on all kinds of adventures due to the diversity of its geographical terrain, and to learn about the geology of the mountains, archaeological monuments, and old houses that were built with mud, stones, and wood of perennial trees such as Al-Aalan, Al-Atm, Al-Bout trees, and others. of trees.

The mountain village of “Halhal” includes several towns, including: (Al-Wad town, Al-Ghagha town, Qabrot town, and Al-Harf town) is about 500 years.

Hilal bin Abdullah al-Halali, one of the villagers, says: The towns that include the village of Halhal in Wadi Bani Kharus are ancient archaeological towns, with a history of abandonment by the people long ago, leaving the houses that were built of stones and turned into stores for agricultural products, fertilizers, and other plowing tools.

He added that the climate of the village is similar to the climate of the Wilayat of Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate, as the village of Al-Rus in Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar is considered the boundary between the villages of Wadi Bani Kharus from the northwest, and that the distance from the village of Halhal to the village of Al-Rus in Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar takes 4 to 5 hours on foot. The road to (Rafsa Al-Wad) and to the village of Qyut from 3 to 4 hours via (Sharaf Marawah).

Al-Halali explained that the towns of the village are famous for cultivating pomegranates, lemons, quince, peaches, apricots, figs, grapes, and several types of seasonal crops due to the fertility of the soil, indicating that these farms are irrigated with a number of aflaj and natural springs.

The village witnesses a tourist movement throughout the year, as it is located in the bosom of nature, forming an artistic painting created by the Creator, in which tourists practice mountain hiking and adventure tourism.
