An Omani young man was able to add an aesthetic touch to the charm of nature in Wadi Darbat through his tourism project, which contributes to attracting many visitors who love the Omani nature, especially the valleys, waterfalls and green mountains that characterize the Dhofar Governorate in the autumn season.
The project consists of huts that give a unique view of Wadi Darbat, and they are characterized by an innovative design, as Saeed bin Mahad Al-Maashani confirms that his idea came as a result of his love for travel and the presence of many countries that implemented this distinctive idea.
He adds: “I liked the idea, and decided to implement it in the fall season in Dhofar, because of the beautiful nature the governorate enjoys, especially in Wadi Darbat, which is a place that helps in implementing the tourist huts project. I started the project last year and the project was crowned with success, and the idea was well received by the public and the visitors and the competent authorities greatly admired it.” He continues: Last year, I started the project with three huts that can accommodate from 8 to 12 people per hut, but this year there are new additions to the project where there is more than one model, so that it provides wider options for tourists, and we added umbrellas that are open on two sides and closed on the other sides, and it can accommodate from 6 to 8 people per umbrella.
He confirms: “There is a very high demand for these cottages, especially by families, because of the advantages that these cottages provide in terms of privacy, a unique view, and a quiet session on the banks of the valley, in addition to the services that we provide to visitors, such as connecting water, electricity, and food service.”
He indicates that the reservation is based on the hours or the full day system, so that the reservation period is not less than two hours for the large cottages, even if it is more than 4 hours.
A prior reservation is required via the WhatsApp number (91779977), and the transfer of the amount to guarantee the reservation, as for the prices, they are suitable for visitors.
Regarding the facilities of the concerned authorities in supporting Omani youth, Al-Ma’ashani says: “We faced some challenges at the beginning, but we overcame them and proved our competence. These authorities gave us confidence this year for continuity, expansion and development. Every year we will work to change and renew the idea of the huts, as we will work on renewing the colors, paint, wood, umbrellas and services in a way that makes the tourist return to them every season.”
