Water network project worth over RO 2 million begins in Oman: Nama

Al-Rustaq: Nama Water Services began implementing a project to establish water networks in some areas of Al Rustaq at a cost exceeding RO 2 million in the areas of Al-Iraqi, Al-Sarh and Al-Dahas neighborhoods, and the industrial zone.

The completion rate reached 12 percent, and the project implementation period extends 18 months until March 2025.

The scope of work in the project includes the construction of distribution networks using distribution pipes of different diameters, with a total length of about 61 km, the construction of a main distribution line with a diameter of 400 mm and a length of 4 km, the installation of fire hydrants with a diameter of 100 mm, and the construction and installation of insulation valves, air discharge valves and control points. pressure in the network.

The project also includes the construction of protections for water network lines at valley crossings and internal road intersections.

The number of home connections expected in the project is more than 1,000, and the number of beneficiaries from the project is expected to exceed more than 6,500 beneficiaries.

The project includes all the necessary mechanical, electrical and civil works to ensure its success and effectiveness, and aims to enhance and strengthen the water distribution network in the state of Rustaq to ensure the delivery of water service to all subscribers in various regions of the state within the company’s plans to provide water supplies in the various states and governorates of the Sultanate of Oman in order to achieve comprehensive development in All sectors.

The project is expected to contribute to improving the level of provision of water services to new beneficiaries, and improving the performance of the existing parts of the current network.

The details of the project were revealed during the meeting held by Nama Water Services today at the office of the Governor of Rustaq.
