Weather update: Tropical depression in Arabian Sea into a deep tropical depression

Muscat: The latest satellite images and analyzes of the National Multi hazards Early Warning Centre show the development of the tropical depression in the northeast of the Arabian Sea into a deep tropical depression with wind speed around the center of 27 to 33 knots.

In a statement Oman Tv said: Expectations indicate that it will move northwest along with Pakistani coast and chances of its
moving later towards the coast of the Sea of Oman, where the effects are likely to begin gradually from tomorrow, Saturday, and continue for several days to come.

The analyzes of the National Center indicate chances of scattered rains on Saturday and Sunday, thunderstroms of varying intensity, on the coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Sea, as well as on Al Hajar Mountains, and the amounts of rain range between 15-60 millimeters.

The satellite images also show the chances of thunderstroms of varying intensity next monday on South and North Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, Dhofar, Muscat, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah.
