Muscat: Heavy rainfall expected from Monday till Tuesday morning in the Southern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, reported Oman Meteorology department.
An alert was issued that heavy rainfall is expected from Monday noon until Tuesday morning. The governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta and South Al Sharqiyah are expected to be affected because of sporadic rain ranging from 20 to 100 millimetres from Monday till Tuesday morning.
The Civil Aviation Authority, (CAA) has issued a caution warning and has asked the citizens to refrain from crossing valleys, visiting low places and going to the sea until the end of the warning period.
The expected effects during the alert period are the flow of reefs and valleys in a sweeping manner in some areas. Active downward winds accompanied by fall of hailstones, a decrease in horizontal visibility during thunderstorms to less than 1000 meters are also predicted.
The nature of the sea might be medium to rough and the waves might be at a height of 1.5 to 3 metres on the coasts of the Arabian Sea and the coasts of Southeast.
