Wheat harvesting season begins in Wilayat of Seeb

Seeb: Seeb farmers started harvesting this year’s wheat crop, under the supervision of the specialized agricultural engineers at the Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources Center in Seeb.

Engineer Abdul Hamid bin Saleh Al Darmaki, Director of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources Department in Muscat Governorate, said in a statement to Oman News Agency that the ministry encourages and supports all farmers in order to improve the quality of agricultural products and increase them in quantity and quality, in an effort to achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural food products and thus export On the need for local markets outside the Sultanate of Oman.

He added that this year, the ministry distributed approximately 500 kg of wheat seeds (improved wheat seeds) to farmers in Seeb state, compared to 375 kg distributed last year, in addition to distributing a number of modern electric machines for wheat harvest and providing more agricultural instructions. for farmers by management professionals.

Hamoud bin Mansour Al-Hinai, one of the farmers in the state and who owns wheat farms in the area of ​​Al-Khoudh village in Al-Seeb, said that the farmers in Al-Seeb harvested about one and a half tons of wheat during the last season, and this amount was sold through the requests of traders and individuals from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman. The quantity of production will increase this year to reach 2 tons, after the end of the harvest season in the last quarter of this month.
