Omani-Saudi Joint Naval Drill “Winds of Peace 2026” Kicks Off
Muscat: The Omani-Saudi joint naval drill “Winds of Peace 2026” commenced today in the Al Batinah maritime area, with the participation of a number of vessels from the Royal Navy of Oman and crews from the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.
The exercise is supported by units from the Royal Army of Oman and the Royal Air Force of Oman.
The drill includes a series of training programs and practical applications, featuring the execution of various naval operations, formations, maneuvers, and specialized exercises. It also provides an opportunity for the exchange of expertise and operational knowledge among the participating ship crews, in line with the exercise’s approved plan.
The conduct of this joint exercise comes within the framework of the annual training programs of the Royal Navy of Oman and its joint exercise plans with the navies of sisterly and friendly countries. It aims to maintain and enhance the operational readiness of the Royal Navy of Oman’s fleet and personnel across various naval specializations, in accordance with the national duties entrusted to it.
