170 Camels Compete in Haima Race as Winners Honoured

Oman Camel Race in Haima Sees 170 Entries Across 8 Rounds

Haima: Winners of the camel racing competition held in the Wilayat of Haima were honoured today following races organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation.

The event, held at Haima Camel Racing Field and supported by Oman Shell, saw the participation of 170 camels across eight rounds.

The race included four rounds for the Al Hajaij category over a distance of 3 km, two rounds for Al Laqaya over 4 km and two rounds for Al Yada’a over 4 km.

In the Al Hajaij category, first places were secured by “Tharwa” owned by Saad bin Hamad Al Junaibi, “Al Tayir” owned by Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mughairi, “Al Fayza” and “Mughader”, both owned by Nasser bin Rashid Al Harsousi.

In the Al Laqaya category, “Bayan” owned by Mubarak bin Rashid Al Harsousi and “Muawad” owned by Sultan bin Salem Al Muthaymini took first place in their respective rounds.

In the Al Yada’a category, “Muwayh” owned by Mohammed bin Shaliwih Al Junaibi and “Lahab” owned by Saad bin Hamad Al Junaibi secured top positions.

At the conclusion of the event, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghafeeli, Wali of Haima, honoured the winners and supporting entities.
