Qade Film Festival concludes in Manah
Manah: The closing ceremony of the Kadi Film Festival and the crowning of the festival’s award-winning films was held at the Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Kamel bin Fahd Al Said, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in which 25 Omani cinematic films participated.
Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Abri said in the festival management’s speech: “The launch of the first edition of the Kadi Film Festival from the Oman Museum over time reinforces the emphasis on the message, vision and goals of the festival, all of which are summed up in our endeavor to promote cinematic art as a means of expressing diverse cultures and stories.”
He added: “History is a blank page written by those who came before us, and we read it and examine its contents. We searched in it for all the stories and novels, and we deduced lessons and lessons from it, and we came out of it with Kadi, which is our land, the land of Oman, the land of Kadi, and we named our present the Kadi Film Festival so that it sails to the future with the scent of the past.” After that, the launch of the Kadi Film Fund was announced, which aims to provide financial support for Omani films and enable filmmakers to communicate with various institutions.
In conclusion, His Highness Sayyid Dr. Kamel bin Fahd Al Said honored the supporters of this festival from government and private institutions and youth initiative owners, and distributed prizes to the winning films and individual prizes, where the film “Al-Banjari” by director Musa Al-Kindi won the Golden Blade Award, and the Silver Blade Award went to the film “One Day” by director Abdel Aziz Sayed, and the Bronze Blade Award was won by “Kat Al-Breath” by director Issa Al-Subhi.
At the level of individual awards in the field of cinematic creativity, the film “One Day” won the award for best cinematography, the award for best direction was won by director Musa al-Kindi, the award for best screenplay went to the film “One Day,” Mohammed Al-Khamisi won the award for best artistic direction, and he went with the award for best makeup. Filmmaker Montaser Al-Jahouri, Muhammad Al-Balushi won the Best Film Editing Award, the Best Sound Engineering Award and Best Music Sense went to Faisal Al-Shibli, the Best Actress Award went to Wafaa Al-Rashidiya, the heroine of the movie Al-Banjari, and Muhammad Al-Nadabi won the Best Actor Award in the movie “Bags of the Soul.” The award for best advertising poster was the film “The Green Box,” and the audience vote award was won by the film “Al-Banjari.”
It is worth noting that the Kadi Film Festival aims to enhance the heritage and national identity of the Sultanate of Oman, and enhance the role of institutions in opening the way for job opportunities and refining the skills of creative youth to express their world in creative artistic ways.
