Winners of the third edition of Bait Al Zubair Reading Initiatives Competition Announced

Muscat: Bait Al Zubair Foundation today announced names of the winners of the 3rd edition of the School Reading Initiatives Competition. The contest was organized by Bait Al Zubair Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The closing ceremony of the competition was held under the auspices of Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education. First place in this edition went to Ras Madrakah School for Basic Education, for its initiative titled “Read to Be” initiative.

The second prize was bagged by Huthayfah Bin Al Yaman School for Basic Education, whose Nour Al Bayan Methodology’s implementation won the laurel. The third trophy was granted to an initiative titled ‘By Reading I Thrive’, presented by Kabara School for Basic Education In addition to students, the Bait Al Zubair Reading Initiatives Competition is open for all employees, affiliates of public and private schools and administrative and teaching staff.

It is a condition that the entry (initiative) be made public and practiced not be less than two academic years prior to the date of nomination for the competition. Another condition is that a school, or contesting party, may submit a maximum of two entries featuring innovative aspects in practising reading.

The overall objective of the competition is to encourage reading, honor and celebrate reading initiatives in the Arabic language, besides consolidating the school’s relationship with the local community. – ONA
