Winter tourism season in Musandam attracts tourists from all over the world

Khasab: Musandam Governorate is an attractive destination for tourists from various countries of the world throughout the year, especially during the winter tourist season, which begins in October and continues until the end of April.

Due to the governorate’s many components and components, with its picturesque nature and its towering mountains that blend in with the sea water and form islands, creeks, and bays that attract attention.

Nofal bin Muhammad Al-Kamzari, Assistant Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Musandam Governorate, said: The governorate has a number of unique tourism components that combine adventure tourism, culture, heritage and entertainment.

It is also one of the destinations for marine tourism, and allows the visitor to enjoy cruises to see dolphins, and diving to explore… Depths that thrive with coral reefs, fishing trips, kayaking, camping, etc.

He added that the tourism sector in the governorate witnessed a noticeable growth in the number of cruise ships that docked in Khasab Port, as the number reached 38 ships from the beginning of 2023 until this November, while the number of arriving tourists reached about 54,681 tourists, and the number of visitors to historical monuments reached 15,000. And 486 visitors during this year.

He pointed out that the governorate has a good infrastructure in the tourism sector, as the number of hotel establishments with a classification of (1-5) stars reached about 7 hotel establishments with 412 rooms, in addition to hotel apartments and green lodges.

The Assistant Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Musandam Governorate stated that the Oman Adventure Center is a qualitative addition in the field of recreational tourism, as it allows the visitor to experience many recreational activities such as the zip line, which is the longest zip line over water in the world, and museums, castles and historical forts such as: Khasab Fort. Al-Kamazra Fort, Bukha Fort, Al-Baladah Fort, Dibba Fort, and Madha Museum are an ideal destination for lovers of the culture and ancient history of the governorate, in addition to many other tourist destinations such as Khor Najd (the largest creek in Musandam), which is characterized by unique terrain, and mountainous villages and marine areas that are unique in their picturesque sandy beaches.
