Camel Owners Participate in Yanqul Heiran Festival 2026 in Oman
Yanqul: The Yanqul Festival for Heiran Camel Beauty Contest 2026 commenced today at Al Mazayna Square in the Wilayat of Yanqul, with broad participation from camel owners from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The festival attracted public attendance alongside the participation of productive families, small and medium enterprises and traditional craft exhibitors.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Tahir Mabkhout Al Junaibi, Governor of A’Dhahirah.
The festival featured three competition rounds. In the first round, titled “Al Mafarid Al Bawatin Al Talad,” “Shahbar Al Dawahna,” owned by Mu’adh Amer Al Saidi from the Wilayat of Saham, secured first place. “Samha Al Majrouh,” owned by Mahmoud Sa’ed Al Rashidi from the Wilayat of Barka, came second, while “Suwaida,” owned by Fahd Salem Al Muqbali, placed third.
In the second round, titled the “Silver Round for Single Camels,” “Samha,” owned by Saeed Salem Al Sinani from the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq, won first place. “Samha,” owned by Hood Hamad Al Masoudi from the Wilayat of Saham, came second, while “Al Sabee’a,” owned by Sultan Hilal Al Buraiki from the Wilayat of Saham, secured third place.
In the third round, “Shahbar,” owned by Salem Saif Al Muqbali from the Wilayat of Liwa, won first place. Saeed Mohammed Al Hosni from the Wilayat of Al Khaboura came second, while third place went to the sons of Sheikh Hilal Mohammed Al Buraiki from the Wilayat of Saham.
The opening programme also included a tour of the festival sections featuring productive families, SMEs and traditional crafts, in addition to performances of Omani traditional arts and demonstrations of Omani sweets making.
The festival also witnessed the launch of a dedicated application, the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman for camel beauty festivals. The application aims to facilitate access to festival events, competition results and related services for participants and visitors.
