    • YouTube Premium Introduces AI-Powered Podcast Features for Subscribers

    Washington:  YouTube has introduced a range of new features for its podcast production and broadcasting service available to subscribers of the paid YouTube Premium service, including artificial intelligence-powered tools and enhanced listening options.

    The update comes as competition intensifies among digital platforms seeking to attract podcast audiences, particularly as streaming services continue to expand their investments in video podcast content.

    Among the new features is an automatic speed option, which intelligently adjusts playback speed according to the pace and content of a podcast episode, enabling a smoother listening experience while maintaining comprehension. The feature is currently available to Premium subscribers using Android devices and is expected to be rolled out to iOS users in the coming period.

    YouTube has also enhanced its “Ask for Music” feature, allowing Premium subscribers to create personalized radio stations and playlists. The service can recommend podcast content based on users’ preferred music genres, listening habits, moods and favourite programmes.

    The company said the automatic speed feature is designed to improve listening efficiency by adapting playback during slower or information-dense segments, eliminating the need for users to manually adjust playback speeds.

    The new tools form part of YouTube’s efforts to enhance content discovery and provide a more personalized podcast listening experience for its Premium subscribers.
