Zubair SEC participates in entrepreneurs’ forum titled ‘promising future prospects’

MUSCAT: On the invitation ofGeneral Directorate of Education, Al Dakhliya Governorate, Department of Vocational Guidance Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) participated in the entrepreneurs’ forum held to promote entrepreneurship among students.

This forum titled ‘promising future prospects’ was organised by the Ministry of Education, Al Dakhliya, as part of its strategy to equip young people with the ideals to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

The forum brought together a panel of expert entrepreneurs, subject specialists, students, and parents and offered key insights on entrepreneurial challenges and models of success.

Ali Shaker, Advisor, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Zubair SEC who made an introductory presentation spoke about the centre’s accomplishments and the importance of instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among students aimed towards the common good of creating a better society both economically and socially.

The presentation included some cases of businesses that started as an idea but today is considered a successful business. Students were encouraged not to give up but take their entrepreneurial ideas forward with confidence just like the successful examples presented.

Ali Shaker said, “Promoting entrepreneurship among students is an important step towards developing the human capital necessary for the future. Building a society that encourages youth entrepreneurship is the responsibility of every society.  Zubair SEC believes in the importance of influential groups participating in cultivating and developing entrepreneurship, so that the desired results can be reached with their cooperation and support. The Centre is always keen to be present and participate in such events which receives the attention of youth. Youth have to be empowered with the necessary skills and motivation to spark entrepreneurship innovation and economic growth.”

He added, “Zubair SEC likes to participate in such platforms as it allows young people to think innovatively and analytically, identify business opportunities, take initiative, endure through failure, communicate cogently, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Through this forum participants got acquainted with success stories of entrepreneurs in Oman.”

Mr. Hamad bin Salem Al Kindi, head of the vocational guidance section at the General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliya Governorate, said, “Encouraging students to become entrepreneurs has a lot of advantages in terms of paving way for the innovation, self-development and growth of the country too. Understanding the need to creating and nurturing entrepreneurship among young people, we have taken up this strategic initiative aimed at imparting entrepreneurial knowledge. We thank Zubair SEC for their participation and encouragement to students.”

With an intention to inspire and encourage, Zubair SEC has been sharing success stories and promoting entrepreneurial accomplishments of its members on various platforms.
