Oman and Egypt Strengthen Cooperation in Religious Endowments and Affairs

Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs Meets with Egyptian Counterpart

Cairo:  His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, met today with His Excellency Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The meeting took place at the Grand Mosque of Egypt in the New Administrative Capital.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of His Excellency’s visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in the 36th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, held under the title “Professions in Islam: Ethics, Impact and Future in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

During the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari affirmed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of endowments and religious affairs. He noted that such participation plays a significant role in achieving common objectives, coordinating positions, and exchanging expertise and knowledge on issues of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the Islamic and Arab nation and reinforces the values of unity and fraternity.

For his part, His Excellency Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari emphasized the strong and longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries across various fields. He highlighted the importance of strengthening scientific, intellectual, and institutional cooperation in the areas of religious endowments and affairs, stressing that such cooperation contributes to achieving shared interests and consolidating bonds of friendship and brotherhood.

Following the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs and his accompanying delegation toured the Grand Mosque of Egypt, where they were briefed on its architectural features and civilizational significance, which reflect the depth and authenticity of Egyptian Islamic heritage.

The meeting concluded with both sides affirming the strength of bilateral relations and their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and integration in the fields of endowments, religious work, and intellectual engagement.
