Oman’s Abdullah Al-Rawahi Wins Fifth Round of Jordan National Rally
Amman: Omani rally driver Abdullah Al-Rawahi won first place in the fifth round of the Jordan National Rally, alongside his Jordanian navigator Atta Al-Hamoud.
Jordanian driver Shaker Juwaihan finished second, while his compatriot Bader Al-Fayez took third place.
Al-Rawahi led all six stages of the rally, establishing a comfortable advantage over his closest competitors after a strong performance throughout the event.
The rally was held in the Dead Sea region amid high temperatures due to the area’s climate and terrain.
Al-Rawahi competed in a Skoda Fabia R5, using the event to further develop the car’s performance and test it on the same stages that hosted the Jordan International Rally, albeit at different speeds.
The team also focused on reducing the mistakes made during Al-Rawahi’s participation in this year’s international rally.
Following the event, Al-Rawahi said the fifth round was challenging for all competitors due to the high temperatures and the relatively long stages.
He explained that the main objective of his participation was to develop the car and test its performance on the same stages used in the Jordan International Rally.
Al-Rawahi added that his team is currently preparing plans for upcoming events and expressed hope of participating in the Cyprus International Rally next October.
