Oman Hajj Applications Reach 28,752 for 1448 AH Season
Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, represented by the Omani Hajj Mission, announced that the number of applications registered through the electronic system for the Hajj season of 1448 AH (2026) reached 28,752 by 8 pm on Friday.
According to the fifth update of the Hajj registration statistics, male applicants accounted for 14,374 applications, or 56 percent, while female applicants accounted for 11,329 applications, or 44 percent. The total also included 3,049 applications from Arab and non-Arab residents.
The obligatory Hajj category accounted for the largest share of applications at 75 percent, followed by voluntary Hajj at 18 percent, Hajj on behalf of a deceased person at 3 percent, Hajj to fulfil the will of a deceased person at 2 percent, Hajj on behalf of an incapacitated person at 2 percent and obligatory Hajj for cancer patients at 0.2 percent.
Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded the highest number of applications with 5,239, followed by Muscat Governorate with 5,187 applications.
North Al Sharqiyah ranked third with 3,132 applications, followed by Dhofar with 2,984, North Al Batinah with 2,949, South Al Batinah with 2,325, South Al Sharqiyah with 1,911, Al Dhahirah with 1,220, Al Buraimi with 333, Al Wusta with 275 and Musandam with 148 applications.
