Oman Space Conference 2026 Kicks Off in Muscat

Oman Space Conference 2026 Discusses Development of National Space Sector

Musca:  The Oman Space Conference 2026 kicked off today at the Intercity Hotel Muscat, with the participation of around 70 representatives from government institutions, space-sector organisations, industry and academia.

Organised by SpaceTech in Gulf in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the conference discussed priorities for developing Oman’s space sector, practical applications of space technologies, and opportunities for cooperation and partnership among relevant stakeholders.

The conference reviewed the national policy and executive programme for the Omani space sector and their role in supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. It also explored ways to utilise Earth observation applications and space data to develop government services and enhance the efficiency of economic and social sectors, including agriculture, the environment and the marine environment.

Discussions also addressed opportunities to develop national capabilities, empower Omani companies and institutions operating in the space sector, and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors and academia to support the development of an integrated national space ecosystem.

The conference further examined ways to localise space technologies and services, strengthen national capabilities, and support Oman’s strategic interests and national security. It also discussed space policies, international cooperation and promising investment opportunities in the sector.

The conference reflects Oman’s growing interest in the space sector and its potential to support economic and knowledge development by utilising space technologies and data to develop innovative solutions to development challenges and enhance the Sultanate’s readiness to benefit from the expanding opportunities of the space economy.
