Al Harthy, Rossi and Van der Linde Take 2nd in Texas World Endurance Championship Race
Texas: International racer Ahmed Al Harthy achieved second place in the “America” race in Texas, as part of the sixth round of the World Endurance Championship (GT3 category), marking a significant accomplishment in one of the championship’s most challenging events.
Al Harty competed alongside his teammates, Italian Valentino Rossi and South African Kelvin van der Linde, in the BMW M4 car number 46. The trio completed the six-hour race under volatile weather conditions that alternated between heavy rain and dry spells.
Torrential rainfall led to a 35-minute suspension of the race. Despite starting from 16th position, the team advanced through the ranks to cross the finish line in third place.
A penalty imposed on a competing team subsequently elevated Al Harty and his teammates to second place officially. With this achievement, the team added 18 points to their total, bringing their total to 40 points in the category standings.
They temporarily advanced from 13th to 10th place ahead of the championship’s final two rounds: at Fuji, Japan, in late September and at Bahrain International Circuit in November.
