Ambassador of Spain Felicitates ABA Students on DELE Certification

Muscat: H.E. María Luisa Huidobro, Ambassador of Spain to Oman, congratulated students from ABA Oman International School on excelling in the first ever DELE exam held in Oman. The Ambassador warmly welcomed the students and others from the community who took the exam, to the Spanish residence in Muscat.

The exam was hosted in November at ABA Oman International School, which serves as the official exam centre for DELE in Oman. This felicitation marks a significant milestone for both the students and the wider community.

The DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) are official Diplomas from the Government of Spain and are recognized worldwide for university applications and CVS. At ABA, the levels offered are A1, A2, B1 and B2 for students and adults. ABA’s partnership with the Embassy of Spain has brought these prestigious exams to Oman, providing an opportunity for ABA students and the wider Muscat community to have their language skills certified for life, to enhance their global competitiveness.

H.E. Maria Luisa Huidobro Martin-Laborda congratulated the students who took the DELE exams and extended her gratitude to the ABA Lingo team, Miguel Vazquez, the DELE coordinator at ABA Oman International School and Anjalee Paratian, ABA Lingo Coordinator for their invaluable contributions in bringing the DELE to Muscat. The institution of this centre marks a remarkable milestone and a momentous advancement in the promotion of the rich Spanish language and culture within the country.

“We extend our appreciation to the Ambassador for graciously hosting the students to celebrate their achievements. We are proud of all the students who have become the first cohort in Oman to take the DELE certification, which is a valued part of our ABA Lingo programme. This extracurricular programme is offered to both students and adults from ABA and the wider Muscat community,” said Anjalee Paratian. “ABA Lingo provides 17 different language classes available in both mother-language and foreign-language programmes. We are looking forward to the next DELE exam session on May 18th,” she added.

“We live in a multicultural society where communication has taken on a new meaning. To acquire the DELE diploma is much more than certifying a level of grammar or vocabulary. It means to show an understanding of the Spanish culture in the different contexts where it is present,” mentioned Miguel Vazquez, the DELE Coordinator at ABA School. “We firmly believe that mastering the Spanish language opens doors to endless opportunities, both personally and professionally, and we are thrilled to offer this esteemed examination to our students and the wider Muscat community.”

DELE exams have earned global recognition for their rigorous assessment of Spanish language proficiency. They serve as a benchmark for individuals seeking to demonstrate their mastery of the Spanish language, whether for academic, professional, or personal purposes.

ABA Oman International School is the leading International Baccalaureate Continuum School in Oman. With a diverse community of more than 71 nationalities, ABA is committed to fostering language excellence and cultural enrichment for all. The DELE exams are an integral part of our mission, complementing the comprehensive offerings of ABA Lingo.
