Madrid: Bayern Munich defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Bayern in the 41st minute, followed by a second goal from Harry Kane in the 46th minute. Kylian Mbappe scored Real Madrid’s only goal in the 74th minute.
The victory marks Bayern Munich’s first win over Real Madrid in around 14 years, since their 2-1 win in the first leg of the semi-finals during the 2011/2012 season.
The return leg will be held next Wednesday at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
