Dhofar Signs Agreement to Boost Arabian Horse Beauty Championships

Salalah:— Dhofar Governorate today signed a cooperation agreement with the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation and Dhofar Tourism Company to support and promote Arabian horse beauty championships in the governorate by leveraging its tourism and cultural assets and establishing the championships as a key event during the Dhofar seasons.

The agreement was signed by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. It was also signed by Munther bin Saif Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation, and Fatima bint Yousef Al Ibrahim, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dhofar Tourism Company.

His Highness the Governor of Dhofar said the agreement reflects the outcome of a partnership and institutional cooperation launched in 2024 and aligns with a comprehensive strategy to invest the governorate’s unique assets to enhance tourism, stimulate economic activity and support sustainable economic diversification throughout the year.

He expressed hope that the agreement would serve as a foundation for developing investment opportunities and building an integrated industry around Arabian horse beauty championships, contributing to the local economy and benefiting the community.

The agreement seeks to strengthen Dhofar’s position as a regional and international destination for equestrian sports and Arabian horse beauty championships by enhancing institutional cooperation, maximizing the tourism and economic impact of related events, attracting participants and visitors, preserving the national heritage associated with Arabian horses, particularly in the Wilayat of Mirbat, and supporting local owners, breeders and equestrian talents to ensure the long-term sustainability of the sport in the governorate.
