Driving towards a sustainable future: Audi participates in Oman’s Green Mobility Forum

Oman: In its unwavering pursuit of fostering a more sustainable future, Audi Oman recently demonstrated its dedication to conservation-oriented transportation at the significant Green Mobility Forum. The forum, organised by Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, served as a platform for industry leaders to engage in insightful discussions and present innovative solutions. As a representative of Audi Oman, Premium Motors actively participated in this influential event, highlighting the brand’s sustainable mobility initiatives and reaffirming its commitment to shaping a greener automotive landscape.

At the Green Mobility event, Oman unveiled plans to decarbonise the transport sector, focusing on green mobility. The government has developed a comprehensive green mobility plan divided into short, medium, and long-term phases. The initial phase involves promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) throughout the country. To facilitate the transition to EVs, the ministry has implemented various initiatives. One key initiative aims to support the installation of electric charging stations across Oman. By the end of this year, charging stations will be available, and the number is projected to increase to 250 by 2040. Speaking to the media Eng. Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, stated that there are now sufficient charging stations throughout the country to accommodate all EV users. Furthermore, the Omani government has introduced multiple tax incentives to incentivise the use of EVs. These incentives include exemptions from value-added taxes, customs taxes, and registration fees at the Royal Oman Police.

Similar to Audi’s strategy, the promotion of electric vehicles (EVs) holds significant importance in Oman’s plan to mitigate carbon emissions within the transportation sector.

Among the notable exhibits at the Green Mobility Forum, Audi Oman proudly showcased its cutting-edge electric vehicles, including the highly acclaimed Audi e-tron GT and Audi e-tron Sportback models. These vehicles embody Audi’s unwavering commitment to reducing carbon emissions while delivering exceptional performance, representing a paradigm shift towards sustainable mobility. The prominent display of these state-of-the-art electric vehicles further underscored Audi’s dedication to driving the transition toward a cleaner and more environmentally responsible transportation ecosystem.
