Higher Education Football Tournament Continues in Muscat
Muscat: The football tournament for higher education institutions continues at the Military Technical College stadium with the participation of 14 teams representing several higher education institutions from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The participating teams were divided into four groups. The first and second groups include four teams each, while the third and fourth groups include three teams each. The tournament will continue until 20 May 2026.
Following the conclusion of the second round of the group stage, the Military Technical College team leads Group A after securing two consecutive victories, while Muscat University tops Group B with full points after winning its opening two matches.
In Group C, the competition for qualification to the semi-finals is currently limited to the University of Technology and Applied Sciences team and Gulf College team. In Group D, Sohar University and the Vocational College in Al Buraimi share the lead.
The tournament has witnessed closely matched technical performances among participating teams, alongside strong attendance and follow-up by students from higher education institutions.
The participating teams are seeking to advance to the final stages and compete for the tournament title.
The tournament is organized as part of efforts to enhance sports activities among higher education institutions, strengthen the spirit of competition and cooperation among students, and support the discovery and development of sports talents in team games.
Only the top team from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
