The occasion witnessed wide participation, with celebrations held at the Embassy in Muscat as well as at Indian schools across the Sultanate, drawing a large turnout.

At the Embassy of India in Muscat, the celebrations commenced with a Flag Unfurling Ceremony, attended by members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India. Mrs. Tavishi Behal Pandey, Chargé d’Affaires of India to the Sultanate of Oman, paid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi before unfurling the national flag, followed by the rendition of the Indian National Anthem.
